Jane Appleby

Jane is a passionate painter, spending much of her time in nature, admiring and capturing what she calls the “visual music” of the landscape. She lives in the lower mainland and Galiano Island, often painting local scenes in an impressionistic and expressive way. She works in oils, acrylics and watercolours. Although initially self taught, she has received a certificate in Fine Arts Technique at Emily Carr University and has a BSC from Simon Fraser University.

Jane is a popular workshop instructor including teaching for Burnaby School Board and on the Cunard Cruise Line. She has her own Youtube Channel: Jane_Appleby_Art where she shares her process of outdoor painting in videos. Jane has received several awards for her work from the Federation of Canadian artists, and often contributes articles to The Art Avenue Magazine. Her work has been collected by prominent businesses and individuals over the 20 years she has been painting.
