Denise was born in Campbell River, BC in 1965. She received her art training from the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, graduating in 1989. In addition, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at Simon Fraser University in 1991. Today she works as a full-time artist in West Vancouver, BC.

“For me, painting is an opportunity to celebrate and explore the beauty and mystery of life. I’m inspired by the small, often overlooked details of life, such as the light reflecting off the surface of an apple or the gently curve of a leaf, It is through a close observation of these details that I experience a deeper connection with the world out there”.
